The
** Principal Platform Engineer Developer
** role will report into the Digital Infrastructure Services organization to design, maintain and implement Raytheon business wide orchestration and container management platforms based on Kubernetes to support program software, solutions, and products. The primary responsibilities include leading projects and initiatives that develop and automate new capabilities for Kubernetes based container orchestration platforms across unclassified and closed area systems. Additional responsibilities include partnering within the team and across functions, engineering, and program teams and personnel to develop and prioritize new features and capabilities for standard container management products.

This roles responsibility includes leading and contributing to the development of existing and new software by identifying areas that can be modified or improved. Implementing safe git practices and CI/CD operations in support of the Dev Sec Ops  standard, while redefining existing operations to be better supported with sophisticated automation techniques. Researching and communicating new ideas, concepts, and capabilities for future software enhancements providing optimization and success.

Contributing to the development of existing and new APIs to provide lasting integrations in support of rigorous automation.

Our Raytheon Orchestration and Container Kubernetes Service (ROCKS) team is responsible for providing a secure, standard,
* ROCKS* solid foundation for the Digital Ecosystem at Raytheon.
* ROCKS*is a Platform Engineering team that provides an integrated container management platform built on Kubernetes and a set of managed services.
* ROCKS*provides a modern cloud native container orchestration platform that can be installed on air-gapped classified information systems or can be leveraged as a non-production service in shared unclassified platforms across our networks.

* What you will do:

*** Develop applications, pipelines, processes, and services to augment and enhance the ability for Kubernetes clusters to provide value to Raytheon programs and engineers.
* Implementing safe git practices and CI/CD operations in support of the Dev Sec Ops  standard.
* Provide integrations across various infrastructure with VMWare, AWS Gov Cloud, Azure for Government, bare metal needs, and restricted networks.
* Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, how it operates, tools that support it and development experience building solutions, automation, and new capabilities.
* Experience with the Installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Kubernetes clusters both in the cloud, on-premises, and in regulated environments.
* Partnering with Raytheon programs, engineers, and DT peers to understand their needs and solve complex problems.  
** Qualifications You Must Have:
*** Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years experience.
