About the roleThe Principal Scientific Communications Specialist is responsible for developing, managing, and delivering clear, accurate, and timely scientific and clinical communications that strengthen understanding of Boston Scientific’s AF Solutions therapies. This incumbent supports publication planning and execution—including abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations—while collaborating cross‑functionally to identify data gaps, interpret evidence, and ensure consistent, compliant representation of clinical outcomes. The role serves as a scientific and strategic partner across internal and external stakeholders, contributing to the overall clinical evidence strategy for AF Solutions.

This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Marlborough, MA or Arden Hills, MN offices at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include- Develop, write, and review scientific materials— including abstracts, manuscripts, posters, and presentations—for internal and external audiences in alignment with Boston Scientific standards and applicable regulatory and publication guidelines.
- Partner with internal and external authors, investigators, and subject matter experts to prepare and refine clinical publications and scientific presentations that accurately reflect study data.
- Lead or contribute to publication planning meetings and facilitate development of publication strategies and timelines for assigned AF Solutions studies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (e.g., Clinical, HEMA, R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Marketing) to evaluate data gaps, identify evidence‑generation opportunities, and ensure alignment with broader business and clinical strategies.
- Support development and review of clinical trial reports, summaries, and other regulatory communication materials as needed.
- Review and interpret statistical outputs from clinical trials to ensure accurate representation and understanding of key outcomes.
- Ensure all scientific communications comply with company policies, regulatory standards, and ethical publication practices.
- Stay current with evolving scientific, clinical, and industry trends within electrophysiology and atrial fibrillation therapy areas.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for internal teams and external collaborators on the communication and interpretation of AF Solutions clinical data.
- Partner with marketing and commercial teams to ensure that clinical evidence is represented accurately and consistently in scientific and promotional materials.
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field required; advanced degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in scientific or medical communications, clinical research, or related roles within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in scientific and medical writing, including authorship of peer‑reviewed publications or congress presentations.
- Proven and established understanding of clinical research design, data interpretation, and statistics.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross‑functional, matrixed environments and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to accuracy, clarity, and compliance.
- Preferred experience in cardiology, electrophysiology, or atrial fibrillation therapeutic areas.
