Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a RF Electrical Engineer to join the Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) in Marlborough, MA. The role focuses on designing and testing RF and Microwave electronic hardware—frequency references, synthesizers, up converters/exciters, down converters/receivers, low‑noise amplifiers, and solid‑state power amplifiers—up to 50 GHz for satellite communication and radar systems. Candidates must hold an active U.S. Secret clearance and be U.S. citizens.
WhatYou Will Do
- Provide recommendations and solutions to a variety of technical problems of appropriate scope and complexity.
- Work independently or in small groups.
- Perform design tasks using RF simulation tools.
- Accept a requirement specification and then develop, simulate, document, support, debug, and test RF/Microwave circuit or board level designs up to 50 GHz with first‑pass success.
- Travel domestically up to 5% as required.
- Experience simulating microwave circuits (including component & PCB parasitics).
- Ability to learn to design, simulate, and test RF circuits up to 50 GHz using tools such as ADS and CST.
- Experience with RF/Microwave building blocks: amplifier, ADC/DAC, attenuator, D/A, DDS, directional coupler, frequency mixer, band‑pass filters, oscillator, power divider, RF switch, VCO.
- Understanding of RF/Microwave concepts: dB, dBc, dBm, bandwidth, gain, gain compression, gain flatness, intermodulation, isolation, return loss, spurious, third‑order intercept, VSWR.
- Experience with RF/Microwave test equipment: network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, RF power meter, oscilloscope.
- Typically requires a STEM degree and at least 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree.
