What You Will Do
  • Use mechanical and electrical flow-down data to design, select components, and route cables using CREO to verify cable path, volume capture, lengths, and interfaces.
  • Develop interconnections sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate conceptual designs and drawings in engines such as CREO, AutoCAD, and Windchill; review schematic diagrams, interconnection diagrams, cable assembly drawings, and associated component control drawings.
  • Work with supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals; exercise limited latitude in determining technical objectives of the assignment.
  • Represent the Mechanical Engineering organization as a technical contact for cable & harness interconnect design.
  • Interact with multiple disciplines and representatives on technical matters requiring coordination between organizations and suppliers.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (Electrical, Mechanical).
  • Eight (8)+ years of experience in Interconnects design.
  • Experience with Creo or similar, PTC Windchill Product Data Management (PDM), Technical Data Package releases, and CN/CR and IR’s.
  • Hands‑on experience of concept definition through detailed design and transition manufacturing within the interconnect domain, including interconnect manufacturing and field troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of interconnect component parts, their application, and major suppliers for interconnection components industry including connectors, backshells and wires.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of component military specifications, codes, standards, test specifications and associated QPLs and QMLs for connectors, coaxial cables, multi‑conductor cables, interconnection cable & wire and fiber‑optic cables.
  • Effective communication, technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Frequent technical contact with the customer and senior personnel inclusive of requirements, IRAD, future technical needs, etc.
  • Self‑motivated with strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to find work and execute to a higher‑level strategy independently, without the need for supervision.
  • Detailed experience using AutoCAD, CREO, CREO Routing, and CREO Schematic.
  • Adaptability and willingness to work varying and multiple assignments concurrently.
  • Ability to lead teams to solve complex challenges, summarize concisely, and present to leadership.
  • Prototype and rapid hardware program development build and mechanical assembly experience.
  • Willingness for minimal travel (domestic and international).
What We Offer

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD – 164,000 USD
. The range provided is a good‑faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including the role, function, location, education/training, and key skills.
