What you will do- Lead the design, analysis, development, and testing of complex mechanical systems and components.
- Develop and review detailed engineering drawings, documentation, and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable standards and requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and cross‑functional teams.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for mechanical system issues.
- Oversee the integration of mechanical systems into larger assemblies and ensure seamless operation.
- Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams, including electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers.
- Support manufacturing and production teams by providing expertise in design for manufacturability and assembly.
- Conduct technical reviews, trade studies, and risk assessments to drive project success.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Typically requires:
Bachelor’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience. - 8+ years of relevant professional experience in mechanical design, analysis, and development.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., Creo, CATIA, Solid Works) and FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including materials science, thermodynamics, and structural mechanics.
- Proven ability to lead engineering projects and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to multiple audiences.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Expertise in advanced manufacturing processes, such as additive manufacturing, composites, or high‑temperature materials.
- Familiarity with industry standards and practices (e.g., ASME, MIL‑STD, ANSI).
- Demonstrated success in mentoring and developing junior engineers.
- Experience with model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering tools.

Salary Range: 101,000 USD – 203,000 USD.
