** About the Role
** As a
** Construction Manager**, you will support the end‐to‐end delivery of major health infrastructure projects across Aotearoa. Working within the Infrastructure & Investment Group (IIG), you will work with the Project Director to oversee construction planning, methodology, safety, delivery performance, and programme assurance for large and complex hospital and health facility builds valued up to $1 this role, you will work closely within the client side project team, including the Project and or Programme Directors, consultants, clinical and operational stakeholders, contractors, and programme teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
You will provide expert construction leadership from early works through to commissioning and handover, ensuring strong alignment with Health NZ requirements, operational resilience, and programme objectives.
Your deep construction knowledge, proven leadership capability, and ability to identify risks early will be essential in guiding delivery partners and ensuring performance across some of New Zealand's most significant public infrastructure investments.

** The IIG team are focused on delivering high impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system.
Giving support, oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, the team understand that safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment are essential for a well-functioning health system that improves the health of all New Zealanders.
** About you
** You are an experienced construction professional with extensive leadership responsibility across large‐scale vertical builds, ideally including major hospital, health, or similarly complex operational environments. With a strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, project controls, safety, risk management and contractor performance assurance, you thrive in project environments where quality, safety, and programme discipline are essential.
Equipped with strong commercial acumen and a solid understanding of New Zealand's construction standards, building codes, and regulatory frameworks, you are adept at navigating challenges, interpreting contract provisions, and ensuring the delivery partners you oversee meet the highest expectations for quality, safety, and programme alignment.
You're comfortable navigating and leading in high‐scrutiny public sector environment and maintain exceptional integrity, transparency, and accountability in your work. ** You Will Bring
*** A relevant post‐graduate qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
* 10+ years' experience managing construction delivery for large‐scale vertical infrastructure projects, preferably in healthcare.
* Extensive experience working with or for Tier 1 construction companies on complex, high‐value builds.
* Strong knowledge of NZS 3910, 3916 and other construction contract forms, with experience managing variations, claims, and contractor performance.
* In‐depth understanding of NZ building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
* Strong risk management capability, including early identification and mitigation.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
