We are seeking a skilled, safety-focused and proactive Electrician (Inspection & Testing) to join our highly respected Estates Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician to work within a diverse and historic estate, supporting a wide range of educational, residential, commercial and heritage buildings.
You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, compliance and reliability of electrical systems across the campus.
Responsibilities- Inspection and testing of new and existing electrical installations
- Producing accurate written reports, certificates and compliance documentation
- Supporting PAT testing across the College
- Fault finding and rectification work
- Responsive, cyclical and planned maintenance activities
- Installation of electrical services across teaching spaces, labs, offices, boarding houses and staff dwellings
- Maintenance and repair of kitchen and laundry equipment
- Assisting with fire alarms, intruder alarms, emergency lighting and access control systems
- Liaising with other trades and contributing to project delivery
- Participating in the emergency call-out rota
- Qualified Supervisor responsibilities in support of the College’s NICEIC registration
- City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation 18th Edition qualification
- Experience in inspection, testing, fault finding and electrical maintenance
- Strong awareness of workplace health & safety
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- A flexible, positive and proactive approach
- A full UK driving licence
- City & Guilds Inspection & Testing qualification (desirable)
- PAT Testing certification (desirable)
- Asbestos Awareness training (desirable)
- Experience working within estates, facilities, commercial or educational environments (desirable)
