Urgent Care Assistant - Swindon (Out of hours, 6 months Fixed Term Contract)

Salary: £13.00 - £17.93 per hour

Our client is an adult female with a spinal injury who has a tracheostomy and is ventilator‑dependent. She requires carers who can provide complex care and support with day‑to‑day needs.

Carers must be calm, patient, reliable, and comfortable working under pressure. Good communication skills and a professional, compassionate approach are essential. Training is available, and we can upskill carers who are keen to learn, with the option to start as a double‑up carer for additional support. This role typically requires ongoing care, 24 hours a day, with continuity of a small core team. Our specialist carers work with one client per shift and do not travel between multiple homes. The average shift is 12hrs. As a guide, the average carer works three shifts (36hrs) per week for us and earns £500‑555 per week. The three‑day a week work pattern equates to an average annual income between £26,200 and £28,950.

We employ all staff directly and manage pay via PAYE, removing the need for third‑party companies or self‑employment tax calculations, protecting you from breaching IR35 tax regulations.
