Huawei Canada has an immediate permanent opening for an Algorithm Expert - Multimodal LLM.

The Software Engineering Coach Lab focuses on capability improvements, undertaking Huawei's trusted change strategy. This lab is responsible for achieving trusted change, carrying out public capacity building, change enablement, and management, including trustworthy interpretation, change framework design, guidance, process IT, and management systems.

• Build multimodal large models, including data engineering design, algorithm design, and model development, aiming to create industry-leading multimodal large language models.
• Deploy multimodal large models in relevant products to enhance competitiveness and support business success.
• Track the latest technological advancements in multimodal large models from industry and academia, and plan technical roadmaps based on product needs.
• Strengthen the algorithmic capabilities of multimodal engines by improving core competencies in algorithm theory, pre-trained models, and multi-source feature representation.

The base salary ranges from $190,000 to $350,000 depending on education, experience, and expertise.

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related fields such as Mathematics, Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in LLM, Machine Learning, and NLP.
• Familiar with technological evolution and industry applications of multimodal large models.
• Research publications and open-source projects are assets.
• Solid understanding of computer vision and NLP, capable of designing multimodal solutions.
• Proficient in AI solutions for multimodal scenarios, algorithm development, and implementation.
