Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Community Program Coordinator and/or Pool Supervisor, the Aquafit Instructor will plan, organize, instruct, and lead Aquafit classes for various ages and abilities. They will train and supervise participants, develop programs matching individual capabilities, motivate participants toward fitness goals, and ensure a positive, safe environment.
Key Duties And Responsibilities- Facilitate, lead and supervise cutting‑edge group Aquafit exercise classes.
- Utilize innovative teaching strategies to maximize participant success.
- Observe participant capabilities and adjust program content as needed.
- Participate in all mandatory staff training and meetings.
- Complete all related administrative duties.
- Inform participants of upcoming events, program changes or cancellations; advise on procedures and policies.
- Oversee volunteers as required.
- Report any customer service issues, complaints or inquiries to Program Coordinator or Pool Supervisor.
- Ensure site, equipment and supplies are appropriate and safe, minimizing risk.
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Current Lifesaving Society Standard First Aid.
- Current Water Art, Speedo, Cala or YMCA Aquafit Certificate.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse fitness levels.
- Current Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross or National Lifeguard.
- Current Lifesaving Society Swim, Lifesaving and Emergency First Aid Instructor.
- Current Lifesaving Society Standard First Aid with CPR
