Aviva has an exciting opportunity within our Aviva Business team—we’re looking for a Senior Auto Underwriter to join our Ontario National Branch.
In this role, you'll shape key underwriting decisions, partner with brokers across the region, and work on complex, rewarding files that let your technical strengths shine. You’ll be part of a collaborative hybrid team that values expertise, innovation, and exceptional service.

- Assess and evaluate risks for new and existing business (Fleet, Garage), with a focus on National Fleets
- Analyze reports to resolve adequate exposure and loss ratings.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, pricing levels and policy form amendments.
- Manage and negotiate renewal terms for the retention of business.
- Work with brokers to develop new business opportunities
- Apply loss control and risk management practices in the underwriting process.
- Respond to inquiries from brokers regarding modification to policy files in a timely and efficient manner.
- Build and maintain excellent broker relationships and management of assigned broker portfolios.
- Provide excellent Customer service.
- 5–10 years of Commercial Auto underwriting experience (Fleet & Garage)
- CIP designation (completed or in progress) preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and collaborative
- Comfortable working independently and in a hybrid team environment
- Proficient with standard business software; RTM system knowledge is an asset
- Able to manage deadlines and perform well under pressure
- The salary band for this position ranges from $75,000-$90,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
