Senior Bodily Injury Analyst – Claims Services

CAD 66,800 – 94,300 per year

Job Description

Reporting to the Team Leader, Claims Services, the Bodily Injury Analyst manages bodily injury tort claims nationally. This role includes claim investigation, liability analysis, negotiation, resolution, and occasional travel for mediation, pre‑trials, and trials.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate liability, injuries and related damages.
  • Maintain case reserves using the BI reserving protocol.
  • Adhere to established protocols for notification, reporting, and settlement authority.
  • Collect and document claim information accurately.
  • Maintain proactive file handling to meet guidelines.
  • Manage indemnity and expense to support sound cost management.
  • Exercise judgment in evaluating and resolving complex claims.
  • Contact unrepresented claimants and legal counsel to build trust and expedite resolution.
  • Communicate with clients, third parties, witnesses, healthcare professionals, law enforcement, and forensic experts throughout the process.
  • Build relationships with plaintiff and defence counsel to resolve claims efficiently.
  • Complete required reports and notepad entries promptly.
  • Travel as required for meetings, mediations, or other out‑of‑office events.
  • Drive and travel, including occasional overnight trips.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2‑3 years of insurance adjusting experience (BI or AB preferred).
  • Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance industry and legal environment.
  • Excellent client, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong organization, time‑management, analytical, negotiation, and detail orientation.
  • Adaptability to a changing, fast‑paced environment.
  • Independent work with minimal supervision.
  • Preference for candidates pursuing CIP designation or other relevant continuing education.
