IT Infrastructure Engineer - System
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Infrastructure System Engineer to join our growing IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization’s IT system infrastructure, which includes the VMware environment, all production servers and applications, and the Windows domain and active directory environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our IT systems infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge and hands‑on experience in system architecture / administration and the integration of both with best security practice principle in mind. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing system performance, and collaborating with network engineers and other departments to ensure business continuity and technology alignment with organizational goals.
- Design, implement, and maintain servers (physical and virtual), operating systems, and storage solutions
- Ensure server availability, reliability, and performance through proactive monitoring and system updates
- Manage Active Directory, user access control, and group policies
- Oversee server and system security, including patch management, and antivirus/malware protection
- Managing Google workspace Suites
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and elevate system‑related issues as needed
- Manage Veeam backup system, archive system with Tape library and conduct regular backups, disaster recovery planning, and restore integrity tests
- Implement and maintain DR site, conduct regular DR testing as part of business continuity practice
- Optimize IT operation with automations or AI solutions
- Participate and support the integration between multiple on‑premise systems and Cloud environments such as AWS, Azure
- Ensure that system infrastructures meet corporate security policies and compliance standards
- Regularly assess and perform security audits of the system infrastructure to identify potential vulnerabilities
- Proactively review activity logs and manage the maintenance of the Palo Alto Cortex deployment to prevent security threats
- Manage Duo deployment for company‑wise 2FA deployment
- Respond to security incidents and participate in recovery efforts if required
- Work closely with IT network infrastructure engineer and other cross‑functional teams to support IT‑related projects and initiatives
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff
- Document system configurations and procedures to maintain operational continuity and compliance
- Document system changes, incidents, issue causes and solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a focus on system administration but familiar with network administration as well
- Deep understanding IT System infrastructure best practices for design and implementation
- Extensive experience with Windows Server, Linux/Unix, and MacOS
- Expertise on VMware environments with SAN storage and fiber switches
- Excellent hands‑on experience with Veeam backup solutions, HP tape library and Disaster Recovery solutions
- Deep understanding Google workspace
- Understand network infrastructure knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing/switching, firewall and network security
- Experience with firewalls, Global protect VPN and Cortex security tools from Palo Alto or other vendors
- Experience with network and system performance management tools
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong planning, communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive mindset with a focus on problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a strong habit of documenting throughout the project lifecycle, including deployment, system changes and incident logs.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- System certifications for Microsoft Windows infrastructure
- Vmware certification
- Cloud infrastructure certification for AWS and Azure
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools:
Teraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef - Familiarity with scripting languages:
Batch, Power Shell, Bash - Familiarity with Docker, K8S, ECS etc
- Network certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+
- Firewall certification for Palo Alto
