Dev Ops Engineer

Job Summary

As a Dev Ops Engineer, you’ll join our team in building the applications, tools, and services we use to create a great experience for our customers and our teams. You’ll help to create a stable foundation for our software developers to build Portfolio+ Inc.’s high quality software products while ensuring the tools/services are highly available, cost efficient and extensible. As we continue to scale and embrace the Dev Ops culture, the software engineering team will be looked to for guidance and mentorship.

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand software requirements, design, implement, and maintain Dev Ops processes and tools to support development, testing, and deployment pipelines.
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure solutions in both AWS and Azure cloud environments using tools like Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Drive the automation of deployment, continuous integration, and monitoring processes to ensure fast and reliable software releases.
  • Implement and manage containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Maintain and improve configuration management systems (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) to ensure consistent and reproducible infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure that applications are built with scalability, security, and performance in mind.
  • Implement security best practices, including vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and other issues, and contributing to capacity planning efforts.
  • Manage and troubleshoot production incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing impact on users.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the Dev Ops team, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Quarterly rotation for AWS Sys Ops tasks and responsibilities which include system performance monitoring/Tuning, patching, identity management, provide support to our cloud customers, etc.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 6+ years of hands‑on experience in Dev Ops, system administration, or related roles.
  • 5+ years of experience working with AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with tools used in the delivery of code, including: code version control systems (Bit Bucket, Git Hub), packaging (Maven, Docker), artifact management (Artifactory and/or Harbor), defect/risk code scanning (Sonar Qube/Sonar Lint), pipelines and automation (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions), and container orchestration (Fargate, Kubernetes).
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, Circle

    CI, Git Lab CI/CD).
  • Strong expertise in AWS cloud services with hands‑on experience in infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services and the ability to apply Azure solutions alongside AWS offerings.
