Software Engineer

Software Engineer – performs analysis, development and technical governance across both Run and/or Change.

• Skill Set: AWS, spring, Stakeholder Management

Open for both FT & Contract

Fulltime: CA $105,000 – CA $125,000 per annum including bonuses.
Subcon: CA $60–70 per hour.

• Analysis, development & implementation of change/run activity aligned with the digital/platform strategy.
• Governing quality assurance to ensure best customer outcomes.
• Defining technical specifications aligning with security, performance and system fundamentals.
• Driving continuous improvement via technical and process innovation.

The Software Engineer is accountable for maintaining code quality, compliance with standards and ensuring platform health.

• Subject matter expert providing advice, governance and knowledge sharing.
• Analyzing user needs and defining technical specifications.
• Developing & modifying existing programs, building security and performance features.
• Managing system health, performance monitoring and disaster recovery.
• Implementing service improvements, upgrades and new initiatives.
• Championing process improvements and evolving Software Engineering Practice.
• Stakeholder management across business and IT SMEs.
• Managing key risks and IT controls.

• Address routine to complex technical problems with expertise.
• Escalate per guidelines and provide solutions for process or configuration deficiencies.

• Support planning and delivery of change, recommend changes to processes.
• Adapt proactively to change and improve operations.

• Build effective relationships across teams.
• Coach and develop peers.
• Engage with customers to understand needs.
• Collaborate to develop new technical solutions.

• Build relationships with external suppliers and sourcing partners.
• Drive value from partners and stay current on industry best practices.

Completion of tasks typically 1–3 months.

• Proactive attitude and strong communication skills.
• 5+ years platform experience.
• Deep knowledge of Application Support and Development processes.
• Innovation in solutions.
• Proven record delivering technical solutions across run/change.
• Experience with global sourcing partners.
• Knowledge of software engineering practices and system management methodologies.
