Senior Treasury Analyst

Aviva Canada

The Senior Treasury Analyst will play a key role in ongoing treasury activities including cash management, wire payments, bank reconciliations, daily exceptions and journal entries. The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented, motivated teammate who is passionate about efficiency and accuracy.

What You'll Do
  • Support daily and monthly cash management function.
  • Support urgent/important wire payments, cash transactions as required.
  • Input wire requests into the banking portal accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Set up fund transfers and EFTs using banking portal.
  • Set up wire templates for recurring wire payments.
  • Work with various internal teams to resolve any payment‑related issues.
  • Daily exceptions process using Cash Management up to 34 bank accounts which includes stop payments / fraudulent payment attempts using Bank Portal (DCS) / EFT rejections process / notifying relevant teams about rejects.
  • Confirm main bank accounts auto‑journals are completed and reconciled, and nothing is left in the suspense accounts.
  • Support preparation of sophisticated bank reconciliations for corporate bank accounts.
  • Daily maintenance and monitoring of data in a timely manner.
  • Using Blackline matching, Oracle Fusion, Legacy General, RTM system, Banking Portal, other reports and relevant systems.
  • Work with various internal teams to resolve any bank reconciliation issues.
  • Managing Treasury email box by daily communication via answering a high volume of company‑wide questions, queries and requests.
  • Arrange declaration forms and send to bank to recover funds.
  • Report discrepancies to IT support team for BAI bank files not in or not complete.
  • Prepare journal entries including for wire payments, intercompany, bank charges, stale‑dated and manual cheques, write‑offs.
  • Meet requirements from controls testing, fraud team, internal and external auditors.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships and consistent communication with banks and key internal business partners.
  • Document and update Treasury policies and procedures relating to funds flow and cash management activities.
  • Participate in any ad‑hoc finance and treasury projects as required.
What You'll Bring
  • 3 to 5 years of treasury and cash management experience.
  • Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Organization and time management.
  • Superior communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical, detail‑oriented, collaborative team player.
  • Ability to perform well within a dynamic, complex, fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with emphasis on business administration.
  • Professional accounting designation an asset (completion or near completion of CPA preferred).
