Civil Project Engineer - Land Development

Role description: In response to strategic growth, we are seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer for our Markham office
. The successful candidate will be working with our Land Engineering Team, with both senior and junior staff, with a primary focus on City of Toronto urban development projects. As a Project Engineer, you will support the design, analysis, and delivery of civil engineering projects for private residential and commercial land development. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers and project teams to prepare plans and specifications, conduct site assessments, and complete detailed calculations that ensure accuracy and quality.
This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving. You’ll contribute creative solutions, participate in project planning, and help drive successful, on‑time project outcomes. You’ll be part of our global Places Team working to create smart, safe, and sustainable spaces—homes, workplaces, schools, hospitals, research facilities, and more—that help communities thrive.
Role accountabilities:
- Leading project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data
- Preparation of technical reports, including Engineering Due Diligence Reports, Functional Servicing Reports, and SWM reports
- Preparation of detailed design engineering drawings, including site servicing, grading, and municipal infrastructure design
- Performing design calculations for Storm, Sanitary, and Water in support of proposed developments
- Coordination with our international design support teams to provide CAD support
- Site visits for data collection and construction observation
- Complete other administrative duties as required
Qualifications &
Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. P. Eng status or Eligibility for registration with PEO
- 5 or more years of proven professional experience working on civil infrastructure/ land development
- Strong work ethic and ability to multitask, prioritize, and take direction while working in a dynamic project environment
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- A commitment to excellence and high-quality work with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Fluent in the use of:
Civil 3D, Microsoft Office software - Valid Ontario Driver’s License and a clean driver’s abstract

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualifications for the role.
