We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Device Physics, a working knowledge of Product Engineering Organization (PEO), and a passion for Artificial Intelligence. This role involves hands-on firmware development, conducting experimental research, and contributing to innovative solutions at the intersection of materials science and intelligent systems. Effective communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse teams Innovative mindset that enjoys digging deep into technical details and solving problems aligning to business priorities A passion for silicon product delivery and a deep understanding of silicon, system, and firmware Thrive working in fast-paced environment and ability to manage multiple projects The candidate is actively engaged in hands-on work, dedicating time in the lab to implement firmware and apply various techniques
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Driving technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across product development and validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement Responsible for leading projects within the chip development lifecycle Apply and explore the use of AI in various initiatives and efficiency improvements Lead FW initiatives that span across various components from security to power/performance. Drive debug strategies that involve a deep understanding of the various stages of a product life cycle Make connections between device physics properties to power/performance discrepancies or timing sensitives leading to high MTBF
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Prior years of relevant experience in the semiconductor industry Excellent knowledge of C or C++ and Python/Perl.
Experience with data extraction, manipulation and visualization, using Statistical tools such as correlation, predictive modeling, contrast analysis, Machine Learning, etc. Understanding in applied Device Physics, Computer Architecture, Digital or Analog Design Experience in Wafer and FT/SLT test methodology including fab process knowledge.
Experience with developing and debugging system software or firmware for embedded systems Extensive experience in power/performance optimization and tradeoffs. Strong analytical thinker and pronounced attention to details.
