WSP is currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our teams located in any one of our Canadian offices, with preference for Calgary, AB;
Moncton, NB;
Kitchener, ON. Join our vibrant and rapidly expanding team across Canada, where you'll tackle complex energy projects from initial concepts to detailed engineering.
- Design mechanical piping and equipment for renewable and fossil power generation facilities
- Prepare mechanical equipment and packaged equipment specifications and data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid evaluations
- Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings and data and interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, and detailers/designers
- Ensure effective communications with other engineering disciplines
- Prepare construction/installation scopes of work for mechanical systems
- Participate in the development of PFDs and P&IDs
- Perform piping design activities including sizing, pressure‑drop calculations, stress analysis, and pipe support design
- Mentor and guide less experienced engineers
- University Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering design experience within the EPCM environment, ideally with a focus on industrial facilities
- Current licensed professional engineer (P.Eng, Ing, PE) in your province of practice
- Experience with in the consulting environment desirable
- Previous experience with power plant or renewable natural gas plant design desirable
- Working knowledge of Micro Station or AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of Smart Plant 3D or CADworx
- Experience using Caesar II or Auto Pipe
- Experience using Thermoflow
Salary: $96,200‑$132,200 (British Columbia) – final salary awarded may vary based on several factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
