Role:Workforce Development Lead
We are actively seeking a Workforce Development Lead that will manage the strategic development and implementation of comprehensive training programs across all workforce segments — operators, maintainers, technical professionals, and staff functions. These programs focus on job readiness, continuous skill development, and career progression to ensure a future-ready workforce. By embedding industry best practices, competency-based frameworks, and professional standards, this role strengthens talent pipelines, enhances operational excellence, and supports long-term workforce sustainability.
The incumbent acts as a catalyst for building a culture of learning and professionalism aligned with organizational goals and evolving operational demands.
This role will be located at the Côté Gold Mine site on a Monday-Thursday schedule on a 2 year fixed term contract.
Responsibilities- Design and implement robust learning frameworks, competency pathways, and structured curricula aligned to operational and technical mining roles.
- Partner with internal and external SMEs (operations, maintenance, OEMs, safety, and accredited providers) to ensure training meets regulatory, safety, and industry standards.
- Apply adult learning principles, blended delivery methods, and digital tools to enhance engagement, effectiveness, and knowledge retention.
- Translate operational and business requirements into measurable learning objectives, assessment criteria, and career development roadmaps.
- Develop and manage job-readiness, trainee, and workforce development programs that build sustainable pipelines for critical roles.
- Collaborate with educational institutions, Indigenous communities, and workforce agencies to support inclusive hiring, ESG commitments, and community engagement.
- Oversee training delivery by supporting trainers and supervisors, managing competency assessments, and maintaining accurate LMS records.
- Continuously evaluate and improve programs using performance metrics, learner feedback, operational data, and industry benchmarking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Adult Education, Education, Organizational Development, Industrial Relations, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Alternatively, a college diploma in a related discipline plus substantive, demonstrable experience in program development and training delivery in heavy industry.
- Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in learning & development, instructional design, or workforce development, ideally within mining, heavy industry, energy, or manufacturing.

Expertise in competency frameworks, curriculum development, adult-learning principles, and modern training methodologies. - Workforce & Talent Development:
Ability to design job-readiness and workforce development programs aligned with industry standards and long-term talent pipeline needs. - Assessment & Continuous Improvement:
Strong capability in evaluation, data-driven analysis, and continuous improvement of training effectiveness and outcomes. - Digital Enablement & Stakeholder Engagement:
Proficient in LMS and digital learning tools, with strong communication, facilitation, and partnership-building skills across diverse stakeholders.
