• Help customers discover and purchase new items.
• Inform customers of food specials and recommend products.
• Check product quality for freshness; review sell‑by dates and take appropriate action.
• Deliver fresh and non‑perishable items that customers have ordered.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep temperature logs.
• Provide product knowledge and answer questions to help customers.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcomed and appreciated.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance and notify when equipment needs repair.
• Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a nonconfrontational manner; act with honesty and integrity.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
• Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
