Full-Time (required)

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm

What You’ll Do
  • Provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, promoting independence and personal growth.
  • Help create a meaningful day for the individual you are partnered with.
  • Help the individual become more independent and accomplish their goals.
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as using the restroom, eating, etc.
  • Support the individual to be part of their community in meaningful ways.
  • Build a relationship with the individual and work together on life activities.
  • Celebrate small and big wins and help develop life skills.
  • Build trust and a relationship with the individual; participate in arts, crafts, and creative activities.
  • Engage in games and fun activities with the individuals served.

We are seeking compassionate, flexible and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for Full-Time positions at our Marion, IN location. As a DSP, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, promoting independence and personal growth.

Preferred Experience
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or GED preferred; a degree in human services is advantageous but not required.
  • Experience:

    Experience with individuals with disabilities in an accredited setting preferred.
  • I/DD:
    Basic knowledge of the intellectual and developmental (I/DD) field.
  • PCISP:
    Basic knowledge of Person-Centered Individualized Support Plans.
Requirements
  • Love for people and wanting to help them.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be able to learn (instruction provided) basic principles of teaching. Must have good basic mathematical computation and English Language writing knowledge. As required by specific job requirements, must know first aid/health/safety measures, or build an acceptable competence level by post-hire training.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to meet agency insurability requirements
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, or stand for long periods of time. Must also be able to assist in lifting or transferring individuals to and from wheelchairs. Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to: gloves, masks, gowns, face shields, shoes, ear plugs, etc. Must be able to follow all required safe and universal precaution practices during a pandemic and as required otherwise.
