The Marion VA Health Care System is seeking two (2) full-time Registered Nurse's to join the Medical/Surgical Unit within Nursing Service located in Marion, IL.
The Registered Nurse assigned to the Medical/Surgical Unit, is a professional nurse with a broad-based clinical knowledge that enables them to effectively provide care to a veteran population with widely diverse medical/surgical diagnoses. Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components.
* Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
* Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
* Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
* Provides competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients with oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting.
* Assists in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization.
* Partners with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team to promote effective and safe transitions across the health care continuum.
PLEASE NOTE:
These positions require Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications. If selected, Applicants will provide proof of current certifications prior to employment. Only BLS certification which included Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and ACLS certification obtained from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Military Treatment Training Network (MTN) will be accepted.

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards

Work Schedule:
Primarily night shift (7:30 p.m.
