Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)

• 13-week contract assignment starting ASAP

• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required

• Float to step-down level care when needed

• No on-call or call-back requirements

• Patient ratios: ICU 2:1, Step-down 3:1

• Charge nurse takes patients

• Required certifications:
Current Illinois license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS

• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required, 3 years preferred

• 1 travel assignment experience required

• Must demonstrate NIHSS/dysphagia screening and strong neuro assessment skills

• Tele/EKG interpretation required (exam given first day)

• ETT/ventilator management experience needed (respiratory therapist available)

• Ability to initiate and titrate sedatives, paralytics, cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and insulin

• Experience with sepsis protocols and post-ROSC therapeutic hypothermia protocol

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential

• tPa administration/assessments and massive transfusion experience preferred

• Navy blue scrubs required

• Associate degree or certificate required

• Must be hard-working, resilient, and manage change well

Facility:

This medical center features an 18-bed intensive care unit that provides care for both ICU and step-down level patients. The facility maintains a strong core group of experienced staff members and utilizes travel nurse support to accommodate increased patient volumes. The unit is well-equipped with modern technology and maintains respiratory therapy support for ventilator management. The facility emphasizes quality patient care and maintains comprehensive protocols for critical care situations.
