ROLEAnalyze existing methods, processes, equipment, labor, and materials to identify inefficiencies in operations and provide as well as assist in implementation of countermeasures for optimization to improve safety, cost, and quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES- Analyze current production or operational processes.
- Utilize continuous improvement tools such as time studies, value stream mapping, or flowcharting to identify inefficiencies.
- Recommend and support implementation of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma practices.
- Gather data related to cycle time, production rates, downtime, defects, etc.
- Use Excel, Minitab, or similar tools to analyze and interpret the data.
- Assist in designing or improving factory floor layouts.
- Use CAD tools (like AutoCAD or Solid Works) to visualize layouts.
- Help optimize space usage, material flow, and equipment placement.
- Observe work processes to determine standard times for tasks.
- Document workflows and recommend improvements.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and detailed work instructions (DWI’s).
- Pursuing a Bachelors/Associates degree inrelated field.
- Be enrolled in post-high school education for the Fall 2026 semester.
- Minimum of 1 completed year in related field (preferred).
- Be considered a full time student (12 credits or more).
