Winsert is seeking qualified candidates to join our Maintenance Team! Experienced Maintenance Technicians and journeyman are encouraged to apply.
Maintenance Technician
2nd shift: 2:00pm - 10:00pm
Pay: $24 - $31 per hour
General SummaryResponsible for the maintenance and repair of all machinery and some electrical wiring, as well as other related functions.
Essential Job Functions- Oversee/assist all utilities pertinent to manufacturing needs – including power and gas. Maintain these utilities, locating and repairing any interruption and/or working with an outside source to make repairs.
- Troubleshooting of various mechanical and some minor electrical.
- Mechanical repairs of various degrees on all production equipment, and preventative maintenance duties on required production equipment and/or general manufacturing needs.
- Use of various measuring equipment (micrometers, dial calipers, vernier calipers, depth mics, surface gages, dial indicators, etc.), all types of hand tools (hammers, punches, screw drivers, hack saws, socket wrenches, hex wrenches, pinch bars etc.) at high frequency.
- Use of engine lathes, vertical & horizontal mills, radial drill presses, surface & cylindrical grinders to make tooling, jigs, fixtures, gauging, and various types of maintenance machines needed.
- Use of fabrication equipment such as welders, grinders, oxy/fuel torches, and plasma cutting equipment.
- Changing bearings & oil seals, and rebuilding gear boxes requires hydraulic presses and various set‑ups.
- Communication with management about daily activities/problems.
- Periodic cleaning of equipment.
- Facilities and EHS maintenance such as changing light bulbs, filter changes, and fire extinguisher checks.
- Must have excellent time management skills, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Proficient computer skills including ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Good interpersonal and communication skills – ability to communicate effectively with all levels of authority.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements with minimal interruption of normal workflow.
- Familiar with OSHA & environmental laws/requirements.
- Consistency and personal accountability are important attributes for this position.
- Adequate knowledge of blueprints & various schematics.
- Must have own essential tools.
- Requires prolonged sitting, standing, bending, stooping and stretching.
- Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Requires exposure to machines and chemicals.
- Requires eye‑hand coordination, manual dexterity and a normal range of hearing and vision (with or without correction).
- 3 – 5 years trade experience required.
