Responsibilities
- Assist the maintenance team with light duty tasks, including changing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, touch-up painting, and floor buffing.
- Participate in safety checks of tools, equipment, and machinery at the start of each shift. Document safety checks and conduct ongoing safety inspections throughout the shift.
- Help with exterior maintenance, including sweeping walkways and shoveling snow as needed.
- Assist in tracking and managing cleaning supplies. Requisition supplies or equipment required for maintenance tasks.
- Help with minor repairs, including notifying the supervisor about any issues that may need major repairs.
- Follow lockout/tag-out procedures and all safety regulations to ensure safe working conditions.
- Utilize basic computer tools for documenting and maintaining maintenance logs.
- Assist with handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste, in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Learn and understand ISO procedures related to the role and report any non‑conforming materials or conflicting instructions to the Quality Assurance team.
- Experience with electric and pneumatic power tools is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of shop equipment and ladder use is beneficial.
- Proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment as part of maintenance procedures.
- Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
- Must have a basic understanding of computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast‑paced environment.
