We are looking for a Field Metering Services Apprentice to join our team!

Important Note: This role is considered safety sensitive, and as such, you may be required to undergo various background screenings. This may include but is not limited to a driving record abstract, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

This position reports to our Marietta, Ohio location.

• Perform specific semi-skilled duties within the FMS Department, individually or as part of a crew.
• Work individually or under the direction of a higher classification or a supervisor.
• Learn to and perform field service-related work activities (e.g., installation and repair of electronic monitoring and reading equipment on residential and small commercial accounts, [4 dial indexes], curb box verification work and turning gas off while performing this type).
• Learn to and perform atmospheric corrosion surveys to identify and report atmospheric corrosion.
• Learn to and perform DOT inspections.
• Learn to and perform Meter Reading functions.
• May accompany FMS personnel as they perform their normally assigned duties in the field.
• May perform other duties such as miscellaneous surveys.
• Operate and maintain company vehicle and vehicle inventory in a neat and orderly manner.
• Operate associated data entry devices as required.
• Prepare documents and reports as required by the work assigned.
• Properly care for and handle all tools and work equipment used in assigned job duties.
• Communicate professionally with customers to promote customer satisfaction.

• Must have a valid vehicle operator's license.
• Must be physically capable of performing strenuous work, including walking long distances.
• Must pass all required training, including passing all applicable Operator Qualification (OQ) testing and maintain all Operator Qualifications (OQ) required for the position.
• Must be willing to work overtime and all shifts as required.
• Must have an acceptable work and attendance record.
• Must successfully pass a physical test.
• Must have and demonstrate good customer service skills.

This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug testing.
