Basic Qualifications

  • Proficient at reading, analyzing, and applying blueprints, schematics, and tool design documentation to support manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with the standard planning workflows, work instructions, and documentation required for fabrication, assembly, and installation activities.
  • Solid understanding of common fabrication methods (e.g., machining, welding, additive manufacturing, sheet metal forming, wire harnesses development) and the associated procedural controls.
  • Ability to create, review, and validate BOMs, ensuring accurate part counts, material specifications, and cost data for downstream activities.

Job Description
What You Will Be Doing

In this Manufacturing Engineer role in Planning, you will be a key member of the Air Mobility and Maritime Missions Electrical Pre-Planning Team, responsible for initiating manufacturing planning activities and establishing the foundation for successful product interface execution. This technical role demands a collaborative mindset, a willingness to learn from peers, and a commitment to delivering high quality results.

  • Lead the early stage planning process for new product introductions, ensuring that all manufacturing requirements are clearly defined and aligned with product design.
  • Create pre-plans, including tooling needs, material flow, and labor charging requirements, to set realistic execution targets.
  • Partner with electrical engineering, design engineering, supply chain, quality, and production teams to capture interface requirements and resolve design to manufacturing gaps.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date planning documentation, work instructions, and best practice guidelines in accordance with AMMM standards.

  • Working knowledge of MES and ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Computer Aided Process Planning [CAPP] and Shop Floor Manager [SFM], SAP, Siemens Capital, 3DX DELMIA Apriso)
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements that enhance manufacturability and reduce cost.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
