The Opportunity

As a Traveling Belt Technician, you’ll be on the front lines—fabricating, installing, and repairing conveyor belts both in our shop and at customer sites across the region. No two days are the same. One day you’re in the shop preparing belts; the next, you’re on‑site ensuring a critical system is up and running.

You’ll work closely with customers and sales teams, represent Belt Power in the field, and play a key role in delivering the high‑quality service we’re known for.

Pay Range: $27.00 – $30.00 an hour What You'll Do
  • Fabricate, install, and repair conveyor belting and conveyor systems
  • Travel to customer sites for field installations (from a few hours to multi‑week projects)
  • Install and vulcanize lightweight conveyor belting
  • Conduct pre‑ and post‑installation calls with sales reps and customers
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and service vehicle
  • Receive, verify, and manage incoming parts and supplies
  • Perform all work safely and in compliance with company and OSHA standards
  • Identify and report defective equipment, materials, or unsafe conditions
  • Complete service documentation and update internal systems
  • Communicate professionally with customers to resolve issues and uncover future service opportunities
  • Evaluate customer inventory and recommend product or process improvements
  • Participate in ride‑alongs with sales reps to support service growth
  • Track appointments, installations, and follow‑ups
  • Share customer feedback with sales and regional leadership
  • Always represent Belt Power with professionalism and pride
  • Wear required PPE and follow all safety protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements What you bring
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in field service, maintenance, or mechanical work
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to read basic mechanical drawings
  • Skilled with tape measures and precise measurements
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • OSHA 10 Certification and Forklift License (required)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to operate large pickup trucks or vans
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, and in confined spaces
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel overnight as needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous belt maintenance or belt technician experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Work is performed in both a fabrication shop and customer field locations
  • Shop environment includes moderate noise and the use of heavy equipment
  • PPE and strict safety compliance required
  • The role involves standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and working with hands and tools for extended periods
Schedule
  • Full‑time position
  • Typical hours:
    Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Frequent overtime, overnight travel, and occasional weekend work
