Position

Description:

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full‑Time Experienced Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Marietta, Georgia.

Hours &

Schedule:

  • Second Shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF

Pay & Bonuses:

  • Hourly Pay: $34.00 per hour
  • Certification Bonus up to $700 for new ASE Certifications.
  • Quarterly Bonus up to $500 every quarter.
  • Sign On Bonus: $2500 at 30 days and $2500 at 90 days.

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform all Tier 3 tasks.
  • Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability for shift work, weekends, and on‑call duty.
  • Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, Electronics, or ASE Master Mechanic.
  • Proficiency in shop computers and diagnostic test equipment.
  • Minimum tool requirement met.
  • Vehicle road testing as necessary.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, influence others.

Additional CDL Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire.
  • Pass a Ryder drug test.
  • Pass a DOT physical.
  • Pass a Ryder road test.
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete SBTIII training within 180 days.
  • Complete all OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days.
  • Complete instructor‑led OEM courses as required.
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
  • Perform standard preventative maintenance and complex repairs with minimal support.
  • Access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers/software.
  • Perform remote triage with RCRC and customers to determine best solution to roadside breakdowns.
  • Perform facility maintenance duties.
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine complaints.
  • Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics.
  • Coach and mentor other level technicians.
  • Advise shop management on shop repairs.
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
  • Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines.
  • Other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support).
