Position
Description:
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full‑Time Experienced Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Marietta, Georgia.
Hours &
Schedule:
- Second Shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF
Pay & Bonuses:
- Hourly Pay: $34.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus up to $700 for new ASE Certifications.
- Quarterly Bonus up to $500 every quarter.
- Sign On Bonus: $2500 at 30 days and $2500 at 90 days.

Requirements:
- Ability to perform all Tier 3 tasks.
- Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability for shift work, weekends, and on‑call duty.
- Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, Electronics, or ASE Master Mechanic.
- Proficiency in shop computers and diagnostic test equipment.
- Minimum tool requirement met.
- Vehicle road testing as necessary.
- Ability to coach, mentor, influence others.
Additional CDL Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire.
- Pass a Ryder drug test.
- Pass a DOT physical.
- Pass a Ryder road test.
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
Responsibilities:
- Complete SBTIII training within 180 days.
- Complete all OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days.
- Complete instructor‑led OEM courses as required.
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
- Perform standard preventative maintenance and complex repairs with minimal support.
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers/software.
- Perform remote triage with RCRC and customers to determine best solution to roadside breakdowns.
- Perform facility maintenance duties.
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine complaints.
- Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics.
- Coach and mentor other level technicians.
- Advise shop management on shop repairs.
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines.
- Other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support).
