Diesel Mechanic Technician
Permanent Full‑time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Marietta, Georgia.

- Hourly Pay: $30.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification (up to $700)
- Quarterly Bonus:
Up to $500 per quarter – four times per year - Sign‑On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday – Friday, Weekends OFF - Hours:
First Shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred)
- Basic tools required
- Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs (AC and electrical systems)
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience (preferred)
- Valid commercial driver license (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Other required certifications based on location
- Must have at least 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment
- Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- Will be required to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
- Must pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background/motor vehicle check
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance and complex diagnostics using diagnostic computers
- Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work unsupervised on most tasks
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)
- Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
220) - Complete at least 2 OEM on‑line diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days (depending on fleet mix)
