Overview
Retail Store Management Trainee. This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in “fast-tracking” into a Store Management position. This role requires a minimum of 1 year retail management experience.
Pay
: $18.50 to $25.00 per hour

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six months of Store Management experience. A Store Manager Trainee is accountable for day-to-day store operations and promoting a positive/productive environment. This position partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations. This position sets the tone for a customer-centric environment.
The Store Manager Trainee analyzes store financial statements to ensure goals are met, supports asset protection, and targets new customer acquisitions. The role involves working with jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more. This position offers an hourly wage plus commission and a bonus based on store performance. Pay is dependent on location, qualifications, and experience.
Of a Store Management Trainee
- Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
- Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit top talent through company-approved channels.
- Open and close the store, manage cash drawers and merchandise, and protect assets.
- Maintain asset protection through inventory control and safety procedures.
- Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store systems, and reporting.
- Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through clear communication and goal-setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes for value and integrity of loans.
- Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development; communicate store mission and profitability.
- Stay up-to-date on product knowledge.
- Assistant Store Manager acts as manager on duty in absence of Store Manager.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
- Demonstrated ability to supervise others.
- Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
- May need to assist customers exterior of the building and retrieve products.
- Minimum Age: 18;
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. - Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
- Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays; 45+ hours per week; hours not guaranteed.
- Computer literate; able to operate POS systems and office machines.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
