ResponsibilitiesAs a Shortage Control Associate (SCA), your role directly impacts store security and customer experience. You will maintain command presence, monitor entrances and high‑risk areas, reduce opportunities for theft, and support theft reduction programs.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain professional appearance, radio use, and earpiece.
- Stand at the front of the store, vigilant and aware of surroundings.
- Greet every customer with a warm smile and friendly greeting.
- Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft.
- Possess mastery of top shortage areas and support programs.
- Communicate theft prevention information during store rallies.
- Conduct bag and package checks on associates.
- Maintain confidentiality and analyze business trends.
- Support training on shortage reduction programs and processes.
- Address unsafe practices promptly.
- 1+ year of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and monitor store environment.
- Strong confidentiality and analytical skills.
- Positive demeanor, strong posture, energetic greeting.
- Ability to work in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with disciplined decision making.
- Excellent communication with customers and co‑workers.
- Excellent leadership skills supporting productive relationships.

You will enjoy a competitive wage of $13.00 per hour, flexible hours, and associate discount. Part‑time associates may be eligible for Burlington’s benefits package, including medical coverage, a 401(k) plan, up to 4 hours of paid time off after one year, 8 paid holidays, and paid sick time in accordance with applicable law.
