Position OverviewThe Registered Veterinary Technician will join our Veterinary Dermatology Clinic in Marietta. The technician is expected to provide advanced, dermatology‑specialized care to patients and support general practice veterinarians across our geographic service area.

Responsibilities- Demonstrate excellent relations with clients and pets in the waiting area and exam rooms.
- Exceed client expectations of service.
- Provide compassionate nursing care to all patients.
- Handle housekeeping and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Perform cursory examinations of animals and recognize potential patient issues.
- Communicate findings clearly to the supervising veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate record keeping.
- Fill prescriptions and dispense medications as prescribed by the doctor.
- Minimum of three years of experience, including intubation/anesthesia.
- Friendly, outgoing and people oriented.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Capable of being cross‑trained for front‑office receptionist duties; telephone and computer skills required.
- Team player willing to learn new techniques, treatments, and adapt to change.
- Phlebotomy
- IV catheter placement
- Preparing and restraining animals during procedures
- Anesthetic induction
- Anesthetic monitoring
- Assisting in surgery
- Suture of cutaneous and subcutaneous tissues
- Apply bandages and/or splints
- Wound care
- Ability to use a stethoscope and otoscope
- Advise pet owners on proper care.
- Show professional behavior and patience toward animals and clients.
- Maintain clinic cleanliness and equipment.
- Assist with patient triage and assessments.
- Provide education to pet owners.
- Perform medication administration and follow‑up care.
Physical Requirements
- College or college‑equivalent education required for becoming a registered veterinary technician.
- Dependable attendance required.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure.
- Ability to walk, bend, stand, squat, or reach constantly during a minimum 8‑hour day.
