Associates Nursing or Diploma in Nursing is required;
Bachelors in Nursing is preferred.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills along with customer service skills are required.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive and respectful manner.
Excellent time management skills.
Strong critical thinking skills.
Description:
The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team.
They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care.
They practice in a clinical environment supported through a shared governance model.
The framework for practice is directed by a professional practice model, 5-Star Nursing, and evidence-based practice and research.
RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by core competencies.
The RN Clinical Nurse is licensed, knowledgeable, and upholds the practice of nursing as outlined by the professional nurse practice act.
They implement the scope of practice and code of ethics standards.
Core responsibilities include:
Performing the nursing process in clinical care using evidence-based practice.
Providing relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics.
Partnering with patients and significant others to prioritize their goals of care.
Practicing with current clinical practice standards.
Coordinating the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care.
Participating in performance improvement, including research and research utilization to promote patient care.
Completing ongoing professional competency assessment and required mandatory education.
Serving as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses.
Promoting evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.
Participating in data collection and posing relevant clinical questions.
Proactively planning for patient care across the care continuum.
Participating in the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers and other healthcare team members.
Supporting efficient use of human and material resources.
Other duties may be assigned.
Complies with all policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
