Description:
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Kennestone Regional Hospital is a 6-bed unit providing highly specialized care for infants, children, and adolescents who are seriously ill or injured. Our pediatric specialists include PICU intensivist, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, speech therapists, physical therapists, and child life all working in a collaborative environment with a strong emphasis on open communication. All team members have specialized training and rely on state-of-the-art technology to help children thrive.
Additional PICU Highlights The only community based PICU in the region2:1 nurse to patient ratio : 70
Certifications:
RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact, BLS or BLS-I, PALS or PALS-I or PALS-P (180 Days)
Education:
Required
Minimum Experience:
Associates Nursing or Bachelors Nursing-Preferred Required Minimum
Skills:
Ability to read, write and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills;
Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills required;
Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner;
Possess excellent time management skills; practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills along with possessing strong critical thinking skills.
