Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a composed manner.
Excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
Description:
The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team.
This role ensures that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality and safe patient care.
The RN practices in a clinical environment supported by leadership and a shared governance model.
Competencies are derived from evidence-based practice and research.
The RN must uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act.
As a member of the patient services team, this role includes supporting service excellence goals.
Core Responsibilities and
Essential Functions:
The RN performs the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
Care is delivered using evidence-based practice and coordinated through effective partnerships.
Patient-centered care is provided while considering cultural diversity.
Communication methods include bedside shift report and interdisciplinary rounds.
Documentation of patient care is timely and fosters an inclusive clinical environment.
The RN demonstrates teamwork and collaboration by promoting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
Participation in performance improvement is essential, including research and utilization of findings.
Engagement in professional development and competency assessments is required.
The RN serves as a preceptor and mentor to ensure a qualified workforce.
Evidence-based practice and performance improvement in nursing are actively promoted.
Compliance with all organizational policies and clinical competencies is expected.
Participation in data collection and consultation with experts is part of the role.
Proactive planning for the care of patients across the care continuum is essential.
The RN contributes to the development of protocols and procedures.
Efficient use of resources is necessary in providing patient care.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
All staff must adhere to policies, standards of work, and the code of conduct.
