RN Circulator Pre OP PACU – Marietta Eye Surgery Center
The United Surgical Partners International, Inc (USP) is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as a Circulator/Preoperative/PACU Nurse. This full‑time role reports to the Director of Surgical Services and is responsible for patient safety during the preoperative phase and assists with the supervision of personnel in the area.
Job SummaryRegistered professional nurse who, under the immediate supervision of the Director of Surgical Services, is responsible for the safety of the patient while in the preoperative phase and assists with the supervision of non‑professional personnel in the area. By assessing the individual patient and procedure, the RN anticipates the needs of the surgical team and provides such services while maintaining an aseptic and safe environment.
EssentialJob Functions
- Coordinate patient care with staff in the surgery suite.
- Maintain supplies and equipment for preoperative, PACU and emergency carts.
- Explain procedures and provide verbal reassurance to patients.
- Identify and respond to physical symptoms or changes in the patient immediately.
- Continuously assess and reassess pain and apply appropriate pain management measures.
- Demonstrate meticulous chart organization.
- Administer medication according to standing protocols.
- Communicate changes in patient condition to appropriate staff.
- Report any unusual occurrences to the Director of Surgical Services and/or Clinical Coordinator.
- Position patient, prepare the operative area, and adjust the table per standard policies.
- Meet current documentation standards and policies.
- Review surgeon preference cards for desired medications and verify with the surgeon.
- Follow up with physician office and/or patient regarding postoperative status.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining procedures, policies, and standards.
- Maintain working knowledge of sterile techniques (gloving, prep, scrub table, field, dropping items on scrub table, etc.).
- Complete all OR documentation according to company policy.
- Operate OR equipment proficiently.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- Maintain patient confidentiality.

Proficiency using a photocopier and a fax machine.
Minimum Education Requirements- Current Georgia licensure.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a preoperative nurse or in an acute care setting (preferred).
- Membership and participation in a professional organization (preferred).
- Physical requirements:
good mental and physical condition to withstand medium to high stress and demands of a mentally and physically active position. - Manual dexterity, good eye‑hand coordination, adequate vision and hearing.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds.
- Sitting 10% of the time.
- Walking 90% of the time.
- Pulling charts 10% of the time.
- Bending, stretching, and pulling 80% of the time.
- Experience in a medical office environment.
- Minimal environmental hazards.
Four‑week notice required if resigning from the position.
