The Atlanta Country Club is a private country club located in Marietta, Georgia. Founded in 1964, it has hosted several PGA tour events. Besides a spectacular 18 hole golf course, the Atlanta County Club proudly serves 450 members with a wide array of amenities to include a Tennis and 24/7 Fitness pavilion, pool with full food and beverage service, and a beautiful clubhouse that caters to special events, weddings, private dining and an active social calendar.
Job DescriptionThe Communications and Membership Director position is primarily responsible for administering and maintaining all data relating to the Club’s membership and acting as a liaison between the membership, committees, and management. The Communications aspect of the position will be responsible for all Club related material including the newsletter, postcards, calendars, brochures, and invitations. The position also manages and creates content for the website and social media and develops all Club marketing materials.
Other duties include but not limited to:
- Responsible for planning/design, distribution and tracking of Club communications both printed and e-communications.
- Manage club website including updating content, calendars, member login, email marketing, etc.
- Coordinate the social media sites for the club including creating content, scheduling posts, and editing entries by other departments and responding to comments/inquires.
- Responsible for overseeing the creation and production of all membership department collateral materials.
- Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media and direct mail.
- Designs and publishes the weekly club email campaign and the quarterly newsletter/ Journal.
- Oversees internal telephone system operations and functionality.
- Manages club’s Google Business account including employee emails, website analytics, and domain hosting.
- Serving as the staff liaison on the Membership Committee, oversees the membership application/vetting process from start to finish.
- Manages, schedules, and trains front desk whose duties include phone receptionist, dining and event reservations, concierge to membership for all events, menu knowledge for togo orders, and develops marketing material for membership communications
- Assists management in developing and executing strategic membership programs, both short and long range to achieve membership satisfaction
- Proficient understanding of Club Bylaws
- Develop Written Standards, Policies and Procedures (SPP’s) for club documents all aspects of the membership function to promote standardization, consistency, and continuity. Although covered in the Club’s by-laws, the details of implementing these must be thought through thoroughly and spelled out in detail to ensure consistency.
- Prepares and executes New Member Onboarding Plan
- Manages onboarding process to all new members as well as member activity through the first year of membership.
- Expected to participate, as a team member, in all major club events (Mother’s Day, Easter, Member/Member, Member/Guest, Santa Brunch, Club Championships, Member Holiday Party, July 4th, Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc…)
- Executes all Club tours to prospective members
- Prepares staff for each new member
- Plans and executes all Prospective Member meet and greets as well as new member mingles to go beyond initial new member orientation
Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from a Four-year college or university in one of the following:
Marketing, Advertising, Digital Arts, English or equivalent combination of education and the following experiences. Previous or current country club membership experience or marketing is preferred. Real estate background, event planning, journalism or other area of marketing experience is a plus.
Must be proficient in Web-based tools including website management, Facebook, Instagram, Google Analytics, HTML knowledge helpful, Microsoft Office applications, and CRM software. Graphic design experience is necessary, preferably with knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop; must have strong writing and proof reading skills.
