- Wheeled Equipment Handling: Carefully pull out appliances on wheels to clean behind, under, and around them, taking care not to damage drain pipes, gas lines, or wiring.
- PPE Compliance: Consistently wear mandatory Personal Protective Equipment, including slip‑resistant boots (during kitchen work and hosing), heavy‑duty gloves (for degreasing), and protective eyewear (for high dusting, pressure washing, or overhead chemical use).
- Workplace Safety: Secure work areas with appropriate safety signs (e.g., WET FLOOR) and strictly follow all safety and infection control practices, including proper hand‑washing techniques.
- Facility Organization: Keep hallways and pathways clear of carts and tools, never leave cleaning carts unattended, and ensure custodial closets remain locked at all times.
- End‑of‑Shift Duties: Manage waste disposal by taking trash to assigned areas, and ensure all cleaning tools and equipment are left clean and ready for the next shift.
- Communication & Reporting: Promptly report any safety hazards, equipment damage, or maintenance needs to your supervisor.
