- Required Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED - Minimum 3 Years Work Experience. In healthcare or hospitality preferred
- Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. - Some College Preferred
The Environmental Services Bed Control Liaison will collaborate with Bed Control Specialists and Environmental Services leadership to allocate the correct EVS personnel to the areas in most need, to ensure timely room turnover and patient bed availability. This position works in collaboration with the Command Center team to assist in the placement of the right patient in the right bed at the right time.
Assists in oversight and management of discharged rooms by reducing time lags in the bed turnover process to ensure patient is placed in assigned bed within responsible time limits. Must have excellent computer, telephone and customer services skills.
- Work in collaboration with all Command Center personnel to allocate correct EVS personnel to areas in most need to ensure timely room turnover and appropriate patient bed placement.
- Collectively work with Command Center personnel in evaluating admissions, transfers and bed placement requests for appropriate placement of patients.
- Ensure timely bed availability for Stat, patient assigned and critical care patient rooms.
- Identify and present recommendations to improve problem resolution, decision-making and quality.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities related to the position.
- Demonstrate de-escalating techniques in daily responsibilities.
- Establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with staff and customers.
- Adhere to the requirements of HIPAA policy and procedures. Major responsibility within Environmental Services.
- Provide strong support and effective leadership by coordinating and integrating services within department, with other departments and with the hospital's primary function.
- Meet departmental and facility goals.
- Oversee and continuously monitor the quality and quantity of daily assignments and activity of the team, and redirect as required.
- Support department PI projects and participate in multi-disciplinary inter-departmental PI projects and activities.
- Practice and ensure the consistent use of AIDET scripting.
- Use appropriate interpersonal skills to effectively perform Service Recovery.
- Ensure proper use and care of equipment.
- Conduct in-patient interviews and room inspections to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Basic computer knowledge required.
- Proficiency utilizing Epic Production.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel for data collection, monitoring, analysis and presentation.
- Position requires utilization of telephone and computer simultaneously.
- Customer service skills and ability to perform Service Recovery.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.
