Hospital Based Patient Advocate (Sunday–Thursday; 9:30 am–6 pm)
Elevate Patient Financial Solutions® is seeking a full‑time Hospital Based Patient Advocate to work on‑site at a hospital in Marietta, GA. The role is 9:30 am–6 pm, Sunday–Thursday.
Pay RangeBase pay: $19.00 /hr – $22.00 /hr.
Job SummaryThe primary goal of this position is to connect uninsured hospital patients with federal, state, and county medical or disability assistance programs. You will conduct bedside visits, evaluate program eligibility, guide applicants through the application process, and ensure timely follow‑up so that 98% of patients are screened at bedside.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Screen uninsured hospital patients at bedside to determine eligibility for assistance programs.
- Complete applications and track them through approval.
- Document all activities accurately in Elevate PFS and hospital systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
- Maintain an assigned work queue of patient accounts.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
- Answer incoming calls, make outbound calls, and track all paperwork for enrollment and renewal.
- Maintain structured and timely contact with applicants and government agencies.
- Assist applicants with gathering reports, meeting appointment dates, and arranging transportation as needed.
- Conduct in‑person community visits to acquire documentation.
- Inform clients of approvals and denials in a timely manner.
- Attend required training on current rules and regulations.
- Maintain regular and timely attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Some college coursework preferred.
- Prior hospital experience preferred.
- Adaptability to changing processes and systems.
- Professional experience working with state and federal programs.
- Strong critical‑thinking skills.
- Ability to maneuver throughout the hospital during scheduled shifts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Outlook).
- Effective verbal and written communication with diverse individuals.
- Multitasking to meet performance metrics in a fast‑paced environment.
