Director, Endoscopy Services

Job Summary

The Director of Endoscopy Services at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital (KH) functions under the direction of the Vice President of Perioperative Operations or designee. The Director oversees strategic, operational, and quality aspects and manages the GI/Pulmonary Lab operations at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and affiliates. Responsibilities include budget planning and management, strategic planning, compliance, scheduling, staffing, performance improvement, and clinical trials oversight. The Director collaborates with nursing and physicians to ensure efficient, high‑quality patient experience.

The role also identifies cost‑effective systems and works across the system to improve GI/pulmonary health.

Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions

  • Leadership and Strategy:
    Oversee clinical and operational direction for Kennestone Hospital Endoscopy Services, serve as professional role model, mentor, and drive team development.
  • Operational Management:
    Manage staffing plans and scheduling, monitor room utilization and capacity, coordinate new services and construction projects, and oversee equipment purchases.
  • Financial Accountability:
    Responsible for operating and capital budgets, monitor budget reports, manage variance, collaborate with business manager and coder for reimbursement.
  • Quality/Safety:
    Utilize outcome data to improve practice, implement evidence‑based processes, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, monitor patient satisfaction, and maintain quality standards.
  • Cross‑functional

    Collaboration:

    Lead committees, manage inventory, coordinate with revenue management and compliance, and ensure vendor guidelines adherence.
  • Additional duties:
    Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all Wellstar Health System policies and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Required Minimum Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) – COMPACT or single‑state RN.
  • All certifications required upon hire.

Required Minimum Experience

  • Minimum 7 years healthcare experience as an RN, preferably in acute care, GI, or procedural operations.
  • Minimum 3 years operational leadership, preferably in acute care, GI, or procedural operations.
