We are seeking a dynamic, nurturing, and creative Lower School Spanish Teacher to inspire students in grades 1 through 5 to discover the beauty of Spanish language and culture. Our Lower School Spanish Teacher plays a vital role in shaping confident communicators and culturally aware global citizens. You will:

• Teach Spanish to all students in grades 1 through 5
• Collaborate with co curricular colleagues and serve on the world language vertical team across all divisions
• Create a child centered classroom where students feel safe to take risks and grow
• Design engaging, differentiated lessons using best practices in teaching and learning
• Integrate technology in developmentally appropriate ways
• Communicate effectively with families and maintain accurate student records

This role extends beyond the classroom. Walker teachers participate in the full life of the school, model ethical and professional behavior, and contribute to a positive, collaborative adult culture.

The ideal candidate is:

• Fluent in conversational and written Spanish
• Experienced working with elementary aged students
• Passionate about nurturing the academic, social, and emotional growth of children
• Inquisitive, flexible, and creative
• Committed to lifelong learning and professional growth
• Energized by working in a diverse, multicultural community

A
Bachelor’sdegree is required. Advanced degrees and experience in elementary education and technology integration are welcomed.
