We are looking for a full time Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Paramedic Practitioner.
Bethesda Medical Centre is a friendly, forward thinking, high achieving surgery based in a modern purpose built building.
We have a population of 19,000 patients and offer a wide range of services to our own patients and provider services to patients across East Kent.
Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will assess, investigate, diagnose, prescribe, plan and implement care for patients presenting with diagnosed and undiagnosed conditions and address continuing medical needs. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet patient needs, prioritise and triage patient needs accordingly, and make any necessary referrals for investigations in the appropriate manner.

Bethesda Medical Centre is purpose built and situated on a cliff top in Cliftonville on the outskirts of Margate.
The practice team consists of 12 doctors (4 partners and 8 salaried GPs), 5 nurses, 4 Acute Care Team clinicians, 2 NAs and 4 HCAs and admin & ancillary staff. We also have attached staff who are based at the practice or visit, including Mental Health Nurses, Counsellors and Physiotherapists.

Job Summary
To assess, investigate, diagnose, plan, prescribe and implement care for patients presenting with diagnosed and undiagnosed conditions and address continuing medical needs. To work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet patient needs. The practitioner will need to prioritise and triage the needs of patients accordingly, making any necessary referrals for investigations in the appropriate manner. The practitioner will take part in the management of some patients with long-term conditions.
Part of your responsibilities will include visiting patients in their home to assess their medical condition, at the request of the lead clinician.
You will be working as part of a clinical team, with 11 GPs and 5 Practice Nurses, 2 NAs, and 4 HCAs with a large administration support group.
Job Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing and treating patients presenting with minor illnesses
- Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective, and remains within boundaries of competence
- Advise patients on health care and minor ailments with referral to other members of the primary and secondary healthcare team as necessary
- Administration and professional responsibilities
- Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the Practice Team
- Ensure accurate and legible notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patient’s computer record
- Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient care
- Undertake home visits as needed
- Ensure collection and maintenance of statistical information required for regular and ad-hoc reports and audits
- Attend and participate in Practice meetings
Training and personal development
- Training requirements will be monitored by yearly appraisal and will be in accordance with Practice requirements. Personal development will be encouraged and supported by the Practice. It is the individual's responsibility to remain up to date with recent developments
- Maintain continued education by attendance at courses and study days as deemed useful or necessary for professional development
- Develop and maintain a Personal Learning Plan
There is a need to work closely with all members of the Practice including reception and administrative staff, as well as the medical and nursing team. There is also a need to establish and maintain good liaison with other surgeries and other agencies, including the Community Nursing Team and Secondary Care.
