To deliver high-quality mathematics education that inspires, challenges, and supports students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with opportunities to teach KS5 where appropriate). The role contributes to raising achievement, building confidence in numeracy, and promoting positive attitudes towards learning within a supportive Margate school community.
Teaching and Learning- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND, PP, and high-attaining students.
- Use a range of teaching strategies to promote problem-solving, reasoning, and mathematical fluency.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that promotes high expectations and good behaviour.
- Assess, record, and report on student progress accurately and regularly.
- Use assessment data to inform planning, intervention, and targeted support.
- Prepare students effectively for internal assessments and GCSE examinations (and A Level where applicable).
- Contribute to the planning, development, and review of the Maths curriculum.
- Share best practice and resources within the department.
- Participate in departmental meetings, moderation, and quality assurance activities.
- Act as a Form Tutor and support students' academic and personal development.
- Contribute to enrichment activities, revision sessions, and whole-school events.
- Maintain strong communication with parents and carers where appropriate.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
- Uphold school policies, including safeguarding, behaviour, and assessment procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and support the ethos and values of the school.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics.
- Ability to motivate and engage learners of all abilities.
- Commitment to inclusive education and high standards.
