Cashiers play a critical customer service role by providing customers with fast, friendly, accurate and safe service. They process Checkout and/or Return transactions, monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area, proactively seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities, and follow policies and procedures to minimize shrink. They support price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.

They provide first-level escalation for customer issues and assist in training and coaching other Front End Associates as needed.

• Process Checkout and/or Return transactions and monitor the Self-Checkout area.
• Provide customers with information, identify selling opportunities and seek product knowledge.
• Follow policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
• Assist in supervision, coaching and training of other Front End Associates; participate in the training of new Cashiers and utilize coaching tools to develop others.
• Support Head Cashier by expediting price checks, approving POS transactions and markdowns as needed across locations.

• Preferred qualification: 1+ years of Cashier experience (Head Cashier responsibilities).
