The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through the acquisition and expansion of commercial, consumer, and deposit relationships. This role focuses heavily on commercial lending and strategic market development, requiring a proactive banker who thrives on outbound calling, referral cultivation, and community engagement. The position manages larger and more complex relationships while contributing to overall market expansion initiatives.
Working closely with lending leadership and internal partners, the Business Development Manager develops tailored banking solutions, strengthens brand presence, and supports the Bank’s long-term growth objectives through disciplined relationship management and consistent business development activity.
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to increase loans, deposits, and fee income.
- Proactively source new commercial, consumer, and deposit relationships through consistent calling efforts.
- Build and maintain strong referral networks with business owners, CPAs, attorneys, and community leaders.
- Conduct individual and joint sales calls with internal partners.
- Present banking products accurately and professionally.
- Coordinate with credit and operations teams to close and onboard new relationships.
- Monitor market trends and competitive conditions.
- Maintain compliance with BSA/AML policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in community events to enhance market visibility.
- Maintain regular communication with market leadership regarding pipeline and performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum three (3) years of banking or financial services experience.
- Proven commercial business development and relationship management experience.
- Strong knowledge of banking products, services, and regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
