Marana Health is seeking a Dentist - Pediatric to join the Dental team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in Marana, Arizona. The Dentist – Pediatric will promote and maintain patients’ health by providing comprehensive dental care for infants, children, and adolescents, including those with special health care needs. Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 10 sites in the Greater Tucson area.

The following qualifications are required:
- D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree from an accredited dental school
- Completed an accredited Pediatric Dentistry residency program
- Current DEA registration and registration in the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy’s Controlled Substances Prescription Drug Monitor program, required
- Current CPR/BLS and PALS certification, required
- Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (must be verified as “valid” prior to start date)
The following qualifications are preferred:
- Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Dentistry preferred
- Experience with the State Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) system, AHCCCS Complete Care (ACC) health plans, and community resources
- Experience supervising staff or equivalent demonstrated leadership experience, such as mentoring, training, or coordinating teams
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

- Knowledge of state and federal regulations where applicable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing visual examinations, obtaining, updating and studying medical and dental health histories.
- Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting the test results.
- Document patient care services by charting patient and department records and writing notes within 72 hours.
- Performs therapeutic procedures by ordering and/or administering injections, suturing, managing wounds and infections, and performing counseling on problems of daily care, promoting wellness and health maintenance.
- Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Complies with federal, state, local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management of needed actions.
- Aids in monitoring, orienting, and assisting dental residents.
- Develops dental care team staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.
- Provide high‑quality pediatric dental care, including exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, fillings, crowns, and extractions.
- Diagnose and treat dental issues in children and educate patients and guardians on oral hygiene and preventive care.
- Ensure a positive, calm, and child‑friendly environment to ease patient anxiety and promote dental health.
- Perform treatment under sedation or general anesthesia when necessary (if credentialed).
- Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff to provide efficient patient care.
- Stay current on advancements in pediatric dentistry and attend continuing education as needed.
